Portfolios
Just a reminder that portfolios are due at the end of the week. This a great opportunity to showcase your child's work. The more variety in the samples that you send the better my evaluation can be, and the more learning outcomes will be met. Some great things to include are reports, journals, photos, recordings of your child playing an instrument or reading, or speaking a second language, videos of sports they are involved in, art work, fieldtrip lists, Sunday school work, chore lists, poems, science experiments, science labs, tests, etc. If you have done projects that are impossible to mail to me make sure you take photos that will give me an accurate understanding of the work your child has put into that project. Some things that must be included are: your child's reading log, your child's PE log with your signature stating that they have participated in 30minutes of daily activity, a minimum of four samples in each core subject area that demonstrate a variety of learning activities (more are appreciated), and two samples for non-core subject areas. Please be aware of getting your portfolio sent off at the beginning of this week so that it can arrive at my house on time. For those of you who live close to the Anchor Academy office and are planning on leaving it there please email me when you plan to do this so that I know to go to the office to pick it up.
